Approach & Focus

IMAM engages in lawful advocacy activities fully consistent with Section 501(c)(3) regulations. Its advocacy aims to elevate public understanding of issues affecting Muslims in India and Muslim Americans, while supporting broader efforts to promote religious freedom, defend human rights and constitutional guarantees, and empower future generations.

Our mission is to “Advance Religious Freedom, Defend Human Rights, and Empower Future Generations”

Our work is guided by three core pillars that define our focus:

I. Education & Research

  • IMAM advances public education and evidence-based research to deepen understanding of issues affecting Muslims in India and Muslim Americans, particularly on religious freedom, human rights, Islamophobia, and transnational repression, ensuring that public discourse is grounded in credible information and rigorous analysis.

II. Leadership & Empowerment

  • IMAM advances youth leadership and age-inclusive engagement to strengthen community capacity while preserving and uplifting Indian Muslim identity, culture, and heritage – fostering a community rooted in dignity, service, and justice.
